Mini-Movie: Großer Fight und Jubel bei ALBAs WNBL-Meisterschaft

Champions! With a hard-fought 66-61 victory in the final against TG Main Sharks Würzburg, ALBA BERLIN's WNBL team secured the championship in the top women's youth basketball league on May 17, 2026, in front of 2,398 enthusiastic fans at Berlin's Sömmeringhalle. It was ALBA's second WNBL title after their win in 2022. The ALBA WNBL team started strong against the defending champions from Würzburg and managed to maintain their initial lead throughout the first quarter. Würzburg, however, stayed in the game and closed the gap to 17-16 with a three-pointer at the end of the first ten minutes. The game continued in much the same vein. At halftime, ALBA led 37-35, and after the third quarter, Würzburg held a 52-49 lead. A truly close contest! In the final quarter, Würzburg initially managed to maintain their lead, but ALBA then tied the game, regained the lead, and held on to it. In the end, coach Antonio Cañamero deservedly presented the medals to his team, including Final Four MVP Carolina Heymann, Lilli Schultze, Mathilda Haensch, Helene Lehmann, and others. This was, however, somewhat delayed, as the team first celebrated extensively (complete with Schultze's signature "UFFTA") with ALBA's youth fan section, the Yellow Wall.
