Qué ver en El Cairo: Ciudadela, momias reales, iglesias y Khan el-Khalili 🇪🇬

In this video, we continue our journey through Egypt and delve into one of the world's most fascinating cities: Cairo 🇪🇬✨ We visit the impressive Citadel of Saladin, where we discover two historic mosques: the Mosque of Sultan al-Nasir Muhammad ibn Qalawun and the famous Mosque of Muhammad Ali, also known as the Alabaster Mosque. During our visit, we learn more about Islamic architecture, the importance of prayer in Islam, and some interesting details about these sacred sites. Afterward, we head to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, one of Cairo's most important museums, where you can explore the history of Egypt from its origins to the present day. One of its most striking rooms is the Royal Mummy Room, where the remains of ancient kings and queens from Pharaonic Egypt are displayed. We also visited Old Cairo, an area steeped in Christian history, where we entered very special churches like the Hanging Church and the Church of St. George. There, we discovered unique details about Coptic tradition, sacred relics, and an image of the Virgin Mary known by many as the “Egyptian Mona Lisa.” And to conclude this tour, we strolled through the famous Khan el-Khalili bazaar, one of Cairo’s most traditional and colorful markets, brimming with lamps, spices, souvenirs, handicrafts, and vibrant local life.
