Charlemont Road (Footpath) Level Crossing, West Midlands

Date filmed: Saturday the 21st of December 2024 Videos filmed between 15:22 and 15:48 Route: The Chase Line Between Hamstead (HSD) and Tame Bridge Parkway (TAB) Stations Crossing type: Foot Path Crossing with Miniature Stop Lights (FPC-MSL) Filming location: Charlemont Road, West Bromwich (B71 3EF) A footpath level crossing located on the outskirts of West Bromwich in the West Midlands on the line towards Walsall. This level crossing is found in a very secluded-feeling location underneath the Ray Hall Interchange where the M5 ends and joins the M6 Motorway, and it has Unipart Rail 'Dorman' red/green signals and fairly loud E2S 'Appello' alarms for warnings. It has a 75mph line speed and is located between Hamstead and Tame Bridge Parkway Stations, but is a little closer to the latter. This video features four different late-afternoon activations, and I apologise about some of the focussing issues in the lower light levels - this was filmed on the shortest day of the year.
