Let's be honest, there are many decorating ideas and tips that only work on the internet or in decorating magazines, but in everyday life, they're a lot of work to maintain, they're not practical, they get very dirty, and so on. So today I'm going to show you 10 more beautiful decorating ideas that don't work in practice. ITEM 1 – ORGANIC FURNITURE – This is a strong DECOR TREND. Using organic tables, coffee tables, and sofas can be beautiful, but besides being a decor style that will eventually go out of style, these pieces take up more space, are larger and more robust, and can hinder the flow of a small room. A straight sofa, a rectangular, or square table can simplify the layout of these spaces. ITEM 2 – GLOSSY SURFACES – On floors, besides being more slippery, they can scratch more easily, not to mention making the room more tiring. If you combine this with other shiny items like mirrors, glass, and stainless steel, all of this can make the decor even colder and less welcoming, whether it's polished porcelain, liquid porcelain, granite flooring, lacquers, chrome light fixtures, etc. Using satin porcelain and using polished finishes on specific items makes the home more timeless; ITEM 3 – GLASS – Be careful when using too much glass, whether it's a glass pergola, a glass wall, a glass facade, a glass pool, a shower enclosure, or glass in integrated spaces. This is a very beautiful element, but it can heat up your home, take away privacy, and get dirty more easily. Glass doors, even frosted glass, don't provide much privacy for a bathroom door. Furthermore, frameless tempered glass doesn't provide good sealing and transmits sound and odors. ITEM 4 – WHITE – It's a very neutral color and easy to use in any style, but it gets dirty very easily. Whether it's a white kitchen floor, a white sofa in the living room, a white countertop in the kitchen or gourmet area, or white grout on the floors, try using epoxy or hybrid grout, or an acrylic grout slightly darker than the floor. ITEM 5 – LED STRIP – Be careful not to overdo it with LED profiles. If you're going to use LED strips, consider where you'll place the power supply or driver for possible replacements. If you're going to use double-height ceilings or façade lighting, it's a good idea to consider maintenance and possible light fixture replacements. ITEM 6 – FIBERS AND FOLIAGE – These are beautiful decorative items, bringing a welcoming feel. Bamboo, wicker, rattan, and sisal, whether in rugs or ornaments, are also beautiful, but dried plants accumulate dust and crumble over time. Be careful not to overuse plants and overlook their care. In these cases, artificial plants, succulents, or preserved plants may be better choices. ITEM 7 – RELIEFS – Cobogós, mashrabiyas, and slatted panels are very beautiful but difficult to maintain. If not well planned, they can be a maintenance headache, whether for decoration or the façade of a home. For walls, you can use ready-made textures or even paint. ITEM 10 – CURTAINS DRAGGING ON THE FLOOR – If you live in a dusty area, this can leave your curtains constantly dirty. Perhaps a Roman or roller blind would be better.
