⚠️ Terremotos dejan en ruinas edificios construidos por Chávez
A Panorama team traveled exclusively to La Guaira, the state hardest hit by the double earthquake of magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 that struck Venezuela last Wednesday, June 24, and which, according to the latest report, has left more than 1,400 dead so far. From the disaster zone, our correspondent Carolina Bigott reported that rescue teams are working tirelessly to search for people still believed to be trapped under the rubble. During a tour of the most affected areas, the journalist documented the destruction of buildings, homes, and businesses, as well as vehicles buried under collapsed structures. Firefighters and rescue workers continue removing tons of debris in the hope of finding survivors, while hundreds of families await news of their loved ones. Meanwhile, international aid has begun arriving in Caracas and, primarily, in the state of La Guaira. Among the countries that sent aid was Peru, whose humanitarian assistance and the work of Peruvian firefighters enabled a major rescue in recent hours. Likewise, US President Donald Trump announced the immediate dispatch of aid to assist those affected. “Housing Mission” Program From the disaster zone, Carolina Bigott also noted that many of the collapsed buildings were constructed during the “Housing Mission” program implemented by the Hugo Chávez regime. She indicated that several affected residents expressed their fear of returning to these housing complexes and their hope for greater international support to address the emergency.
