So I can't think of a more perfect time to finally upload it and share it with you. It's also the first solo character video I've ever managed to finish and upload here. Happy 35th birthday to one of my favourite fictional characters! Even though Ilya is fictional, his experiences with dealing with family and mental health are so meaningful and something I can relate to on a deeply personal level. I also lost my grandma recently, after watching her struggle with dementia for two years. Seeing her lose so much of herself this year and living far away was so difficult. Ilya experiencing everything he has, and still being the beautiful and empathetic person only makes me love and appreciate him more. He's wonderfully complex and full of so much love. Also, probably why I feel defensive when he is often misunderstood early on. I appreciate how Connor has brought his character to life in a way that feels so real. It's still mindblowing seeing him embody that character, and the Russian monologue alone deserves every award. I'm not ready for S2 because I don't think I will be able to survive how badly he is going to ruin us all with those scenes in tlg. Also, on an unrelated note, I'm so excited to finally see Noah in concert in August and hopefully hear this incredible song live, too!
