Daybreak Foods | Employees take to the streets in Delmas, Mpumalanga
Scores of Daybreak Foods employees took to the street to raise their plight at the company's facility in Delmas, Mpumalanga. The workers were protesting over unpaid salaries and the collapse of the company's operation. Some workers say they are forced to stay at home as they can no longer afford transport fares to work. However, others are still reporting for their duties, hoping that things will improve soon. The embattled poultry producer was placed under business rescue in May to avoid liquidation to save close to 3 000 jobs.
