Explore Carleton Place, Ontario | Dining, Shopping & Stunning Labyrinth Walk

Welcome to my Channel -- Walking Attractions    / @walkingattractions   As a lover of small towns and quaint places, Carleton Place, Ontario, Canada, has been on my bucket list for a while. So, when I finally had a chance to go on a road trip, I knew Carleton Place would be my first stop. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint! Carleton Place, a charming town located in Eastern Ontario, is a perfect spot for a weekend getaway. This small town, located just 30 minutes west of Ottawa, offers a great mix of dining and shopping experiences, as well as plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities. As I drove into the town, I was struck by the charming architecture of the buildings and the lush greenery around them. I immediately parked my car and headed towards Bridge Street, the heart of the town. It was bustling with people shopping in the unique boutiques and dining in the cozy cafes and restaurants. After satisfying my taste buds with some delicious local cuisine, I took a leisurely stroll along the waterfront, enjoying the serene views of the Mississippi River. Next, I visited the Carleton Place and Beckwith Heritage Museum, which showcases the rich history of the town and its surrounding areas. It was fascinating to learn about the early settlers and their way of life. I couldn't resist the temptation to walk the labyrinth at the back of the Museum, which was a peaceful and meditative experience. The highlight of my trip, however, was a visit to the Purdon Conservation Area, where Canada's largest colony of Showy Lady's Slipper Orchids bloom every year. It was truly a sight to behold, with the bright pink and white flowers standing out against the lush greenery of the forest. Overall, my road trip to Carleton Place was a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this charming town to anyone who loves small-town vibes, history, and nature.
