PARABOLIC MOTION (PROJECTILE MOTION) - FORMULAS. Here are the main formulas you need to solve problems on parabolic motion, also known as projectile motion. After a brief explanation of parabolic motion (the composition of two motions along the two Cartesian axes), I'll show you the system with the two main formulas that will allow you to answer many questions. Additionally, I'll also show you the correct formulas that deal with the components of the initial velocity of the launched projectile.
