Therefore, the current cultural landscape can no longer be understood through modern frameworks. Philosophers who were considered pillars of modern Western civilization, such as Kant, Hegel, Marx, Freud, or Nietzsche, for example, are being questioned or reinterpreted in entirely new ways. Basic concepts essential to understanding culture, such as rationality, the individual subject, identity, ideology, language, and the position of religion or science, for example, are being questioned and thoroughly dismantled. Contemporary philosophers, while criticizing and overturning the Western Enlightenment tradition, have sought new frameworks to understand the radical and rapid changes in human culture after World War I and II, marked by the decolonization of colonized nations, the youth revolutions of the 1960s, intellectual skepticism, a new awareness of gender, environmental issues, and so on. Interestingly, in today's increasingly intense global interaction, all cultures are simultaneously victims and causes. Western and non-Western alike are experiencing similar turmoil. A widespread, often skeptical, awareness of complexity, uncertainty, change, and plurality is prevalent. There is a shared anxiety about the loss of certainty about the direction of life and its increasingly uncontrolled ethical implications. In other words, understanding the meaning and dynamics of culture is a major problem for all humanity today, a shared problem. Therefore, in order to understand culture in the contemporary context, it is useful to recognize the thoughts of contemporary philosophers on it. It is hoped that through their ideas, we can see various possibilities for understanding the complexity of our current situation.
