Just a few days ago news came that erosion along the shore of the Bay of Skaill on Orkney had revealed what may be indications of the existence of a prehistoric settlement to rival that of the famous Skara Brae Neolithic village - just within eyesight across the bay. Although this is of course very exciting news, it is far from unexpected.
