In this video, we will show you oil path during engine operation and focus on critical frictional parts of the engine. Engine lubrication by means of oil is primarily used to reduce friction between moving parts and dissipate heat. Bottom part of the engine is provided with oil sump. Lube oil pump pulls the oil and pushes further in engine with specified pressure. Lube oil is then passes through offline oil cooler and then through full-flow replacement i.e. disposable filters. Soot particles up to 20 microns are captured in these full-flow filters, however, lube oil with particles below 20 microns still circulate through engine parts. It is observed that particles below 5 microns are more hazardous to the engine as they can easily enter into the clearances of moving parts along with the oil and causes wear to the surfaces. Oil passes through plain bearing, connecting rods, pistons. Piston has some critical frictional parts like compression ring, oil scraper ring. Furthermore, oil is pumped to Camshaft Bearings, Rocker Arm and Valves to reduce friction and heat. At the end, oil returns to the oil sump along with soot particles, metallic particles, solid contamination produced during the operation and combustion. These impurities keep circulating in oil and through engine firctional parts till you remove them. To remove particles below 20 micron, you must have an efficient filtration equipment running continuously with your engine. Engine mounted centrifuge filter can is ideal solution for this. An offline centrifugal oil filter can be connected to your engine by doing small modifications. It works simultaneously with engine and keeps removing solid particles from lube oil down to 1 micron.
