The Most Important 2 Weeks in My Chestnut Orchard

Every chestnut I harvest this fall begins right here... For about two weeks each year, my chestnut orchard enters the most important stage of the growing season. During this short window, thousands of tiny flowers must be successfully pollinated if I'm going to have a good harvest. In this video you'll see: 🌰 The orchard as it begins to bloom 🌼 The difference between male and female chestnut flowers 🌬️ How wind pollination works 🐝 The insects visiting the blossoms and the role they play 🌳 Three special trees we'll follow throughout the growing season—from bloom all the way to harvest This is one of my favorite times of year because it's where every chestnut crop begins. Over the coming months we'll continue checking back on these same three trees to see how this year's crop develops. Thanks for following along on another season in the orchard!
