In search of Arco De Penitas

This video shows our trip from Corralejo down to the Pajara area of Fuerteventura when we went off to find the Arch De Penitas. You will often see the Arch de Penitas in beautiful pictures of the island but, we had never been there. The video contains quite a lot of footage shot on the road because I wanted to show what driving conditions are like as you travel around the island away from the motorways. We (foolishly) looked on Google Earth to see what the terrain was like and it looked to us to be a short route from the car park to the arch. In the event it is quite a climb and should not be undertaken lightly. There is no good path, it is quite a climb and scramble. You need suitable footwear and possible a stick and don't forget to take water. We went on a Monday morning and there was a constant stream of people going to the arch for pictures. Some better prepared tan others! Although I got a little footage of the arch, I was very tired by the climb (at 68) I would have like to have taken more time and done better. I did however get some nice stills.
