Wir tauschen unseren Wohnwagen gegen ein Dachzelt

Yes, you read that right. We're swapping our caravan for a rooftop tent – at least for a few weeks. It sounds totally strange, but the caravan we spent so long building has become our everyday reality. We need to get away again, escape the daily grind, and just go camping the old-fashioned way. Many people go camping to simply be outdoors without too much gear. But since our caravan is also kind of our home, it feels less like an adventure and more like everyday life. That's exactly where the rooftop tent comes in. The idea came to us in January when we were in Italy with the caravan during the winter, and now we want to put it into practice this summer. Closer to nature, simply being outdoors, and embarking on a family adventure. Whether it's a good idea or not, you'll see here in the coming weeks. Of course, we're not turning our backs on the caravan completely. We love our caravan very much, but we need a little break from it, from the daily routine in the caravan, and we're looking forward to minimalist travel in the rooftop tent. Why we're doing all this and how we'll be traveling – find out in this first video of our little rooftop tent series! »Follow us for daily stories on: Instagram:   / frischluft.familie   TikTok:   / frischluft.familie   »Our conversion product list on Amazon*: https://amzn.to/4l1qXzX »Our camping gear*: https://www.amazon.de/shop/frischluft... 👋We're Franzi and Steffen. In our mid-30s, we decided to start over. A journey into the unknown. Since May 2024, we've been traveling full-time with our two children through Europe in what is now a 12m² (12 square meter) space. After 14 months of traveling, in the summer of 2025, we decided to part ways with our little caravan "Tonni" and buy a 28-year-old caravan, completely remodel and renovate it. We finished the renovation in November 2025, and now we're traveling through Europe again in our home on wheels, with the goal of finding a place where we want to stay forever. We're happy for anyone who wants to join us on our journey! Links marked with an asterisk (*) in the video description are affiliate links.
