Corrective Pruning My Fruit Trees (Wambugu Apples, Dragon Fruit & Grapefruit Vine)

In today’s video, I take you through a corrective pruning session on three of my fruit plants: 🍎 Wambugu Apple Trees 🌵 Dragon Fruit 🍊 Grapefruit Vine (95% complete) Pruning is one of the most important practices for improving fruit quality, increasing airflow, and encouraging strong, healthy growth. In this video, I explain why I removed certain branches, how I shaped the canopy, and the strategy behind cutting back weak or overcrowded growth. For the Wambugu apples, the focus was on structural balance and encouraging productive branches. For the dragon fruit, I removed excess growth to improve light penetration and future fruiting. The grapefruit vine required heavier corrective pruning to restore proper form and direction of growth. Whether you're a backyard farmer, an orchard enthusiast, or just interested in fruit tree management in Kenya, this video gives practical insights you can apply to your own trees. 🌱 Healthy pruning today = better harvest tomorrow.
