11 Things I Wish I Knew Before Getting Married

After 11 years of marriage, I’ve realised I was prepared for the wedding day… but I wasn’t prepared for everything marriage would reveal in me. In this video, I’m sharing 11 things I wish I knew before getting married. These are honest marriage lessons I’ve learned through love, conflict, motherhood, pressure, delayed dreams, intimacy, forgiveness, comparison, and learning how to keep God at the centre when life gets hard. Before I got married, I knew I loved Michael. I knew I wanted to say yes. But I didn’t know marriage would expose my insecurity, selfishness, fear, immaturity, and the parts of me that still needed healing. This is not a perfect marriage advice video. It’s a real reflection from 11 years of being stretched, humbled, loved, corrected, and carried by God through different seasons. If you’re engaged, newly married, or already years into marriage, I hope this helps you see marriage with more honesty, grace, and hope.
