Our services begin at 10:30 a.m. Our service began with our organist/pianist, Mike Wood, playing the Prelude “A Festal Fanfare’” by J.S. Bach. Our pastor, Rev. Amie M. Vanderford, greeted everyone. Our liturgist, Avery Sells, then made a few announcements. After a short time of greeting each other, the congregation sang our welcoming song, “Sanctuary,” number 701 from our Presbyterian Hymnal. During our service, the congregation then sang the following hymn from our hymnal, “Glory to God, The Presbyterian Hymnal” (used with permission): 250 “In the Bulb There Is a Flower (Hymn of Promise)” 807 “When We Must Bear Persistent Pain” 735 “I Need Thee Every Hour” Our soloist was Daniel McDill who sang “I Know De Lord’s Laid His Hand on Me” arranged by H.T. Burleigh. Our scripture readings for this Sunday were as follows: New Testament Reading: Galatians 4:21-31 Old Testament Reading: Genesis 16:1-16 Rev. Amie M. Vanderford’ s message was entitled “The God Who Sees Us.” Our pianist/organist, Mike Wood, played “Little Rondo’” by Richard Blake for the offertory, and “Ancient of Days!” by Paul Taylor for the postlude. All in attendance are invited to participate in communion as we practice open communion. We offer gluten free bread for communion also. You need not be a member of FPC, or any Presbyterian Church, to be a part of communion.
