The Liar, The Witch Hunt, and The Large Language Model

Some points I somehow forgot to make: At the end of the day, the writing itself was not the biggest nail in the coffin (in my opinion), Mia's prior blatant use of AI and disregard for other artist's IP is what leads me to believe she either used an LLM herself, or knew it was used by her 'editor' and simply did not disclose. I want to reiterate that I still do not believe that poor writing (alone) is enough to be sure. To be honest, we are still not 100% sure, which makes this whole situation particularly worrisome. While I agree that Black women are held to higher expectations, I do not believe that we should be infantilized. The idea that Mia would have 'accidentally' stolen an artist's work for her cover without knowing what she was doing is ridiculous. As is the idea that she would have 'accidentally' used AI or allowed AI use without knowing. Even through the most charitable lens, this would have been extreme negligence on Mia's part. That being said, we can comment on what happened without resorting to ant*bl*ckness or rac*sm. I would say that I support Mia suing if it is true that there was no AI use, but she already admitted to it being used (just not by her) so...
