What A Nail Biter! Fullers Premiership Cricket Highlights... Horley CC 1st XI vs Merstham CC 1st XI

Horley were at home for the fourth game of the Fullers Premiership 2021 season. When we won the toss and with a decent wicket under us that was only going to dry and get better Charlie chose to bowl. With our chases so far this year we were confident in chasing down most totals set. When in the field our form improved drastically but still couldn't hold onto the all important catches! This gave Merstham's best batsmen a chance a good score. We went out with a very manageable total to chase, with some very tight bowling and superb fielding this was made tricky by Merstham, we motored along with the run rate and eventually Merstham got their rewards by taking a few excellent wickets to see the back of out top order. It was then down to the middle and lower order to seal the deal and get us over the line. After last weeks cascade of wickets and a bigger collapse than the Roman Empire we were hoping for a solid performance, with some decent performances from our players got very very close to the total and it was left down the the captain to get us over the line... could he do it?
