The Role of Pipelines Product Transportation: The pipelines transport crude oil, natural gas, and derivatives such as gasoline, diesel, kerosene, and fuel oil. Connection between Cubatão and Planalto Paulista: These pipelines connect the coast (Cubatão) and the metropolitan region of São Paulo, where important terminals and refineries are located. Part of the Petrobras/Transpetro System: They are part of Petrobras' integrated logistics system, essential for the fuel supply in São Paulo. The larger pipelines that descend the mountain are often mistaken for oil pipelines, but they are actually part of the system that transports water to the plant.
