Slapton Sands - (Torcross), South Hams, Devon UK - April 2023. Actually the title Sands, is not quite correct as its mainly shingle and pebbles. infact it has been designated as an “Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty” and is also something of a haven for wildlife. Sadly its been estimated that 100's of American soldiers died here in 1944, the stone monument on the beach which pays tribute to “Operation Tiger” https://historicengland.org.uk/servic...
