The Leapmotor C10 REEV, an extended-range electric SUV from a company that shares many similarities with Tesla. Not its propulsion technology, though, as this C10 REEV has "only" 145 km of electric range... but without the anxiety of searching for charging points. Initially, if someone told you that a recently launched Chinese model could instantly win over European drivers, I'd say it had little chance. After a week of testing, I've certainly found some areas for improvement, but it excels in other aspects. The first is its price: starting at €33,700, which, with discounts and incentives from the MOVES III Plan, can drop to €26,800. That's without discounts. It's also an ideal SUV for families thanks to its smooth suspension and quiet ride. In the city, despite its size, it handles very well and has a comprehensive camera system that will help you with parking. If you're looking for a thrilling driving experience, this car isn't for you. And the lack of physical controls might frustrate some users. On the plus side, I must say that the screen works very well and provides a wealth of information. The trunk space is slightly smaller than its rivals, but it's adequate. Otherwise, it boasts good real-world electric range, allowing you to take long trips without worrying about charging infrastructure. With its 50-liter tank, we're talking about real-world ranges of around 900 km or more. This extended-range electric solution is smart and practical. What does it have in common with Tesla? It manufactures everything in-house, except for the batteries. This is what they call vertical integration. With it, they manage to offer vehicles with a size-price-technology ratio that's very difficult to match. That's why, now that the Chinese economy has slowed down and people are looking for low prices, they're dominating the market. What sets it apart from Tesla is that it's arriving in Europe through Stellantis, so it has a complete network of dealerships and service centers from day one.
