Skysea Caravan and Camping Site - Port Eynon - Gower Part 1

We took the campervan to Port Eynon on the Gower near Swansea. It's a lovely large site where you can hear the sounds of the waves from your pitch. The facilities are second to none with two blocks serving the site - one of them being brand new. We had decided to go on this holiday on the spur of the moment after losing Mum/Nan and were in that strange period waiting for the funeral. We apologise for the quality of the video but I accidentally deleted the whole weekend's files after also wiping the memory card. I was so upset because we spent hours on the unique footage. Eventually, we spent quite a lot of money on Wondersgare Recoverit software which saved a lot of the files but some were corrupt and prevented the video from being produced by Power Director. Power Director would play it but not produce it, I ended up using a screen recorder to capture the video being played. This video shows us arriving along some narrow lanes and through Port Eynon village which was really narrow in parts. I would imagine that it could get gridlocked in the summer months if cars and vans are arriving and leaving at the same time. We wondered if the unusual check-in and checkout times of 11AM and 3PM respectively could be to avoid campers leaving when the day-trippers are arriving and vice versa. There is only one road to the village. We have a look at the expansive beach and tried to get fish and chips but both chip shops which are side by side were closed (March 22) with no indication of when they would be reopening. This could have been difficult had we been on s tighter budget as we were expecting to get something and chips but ended up eating in the albeit very nice Smugglers Arms. The Ship is also looked great but we noticed they did not have a children's menu whereas the Smugglers Arms seemed very child friendly. In the second part of the video which will be published 2nd April we head over to Culver Hole which involved a steep climb (we got lost) and eventually Dad had to climb down a treacherous cliff. It was really worth it though and be sure to tune in to see that. #campervan #Gower #porteynon
