This brand-new addition to the Spector lineup sits between the Pulse II and Ethos series, offering premium tone and playability at a mid-range price point. The NS Icon features a fully curved alder body with quilted maple top (on select finishes), a 3-piece maple bolt-on neck, rosewood fingerboard with Crown inlays, and gold hardware. But what really makes this bass stand out are the custom-voiced Aguilar DCB soapbar pickups paired with the Aguilar OBP-2 preamp. As someone who’s known for being an EMG fanatic, I was surprised by how huge these Aguilar pickups sound. In this demo, you’ll hear both live gig footage and direct-recorded tones so you can judge for yourself. If you’re wondering where the NS Icon fits in Spector’s lineup, I’d say it feels a step above the Pulse II but just under the Ethos or Dimension.
