WHAT DOES A GERMAN MIDWIFE DO? | And How They are AMAZING for Families

Surprise! We don't normally post twice in one week - but we found the time to make a Sunday short(-er) video discussing the role of a midwife (Hebamme/Hebammen) in Germany. If you caught our previous video about 'Giving Birth in Germany as a Foreigner' - midwifes were discussed briefly for their role in pregnancy and birth. But midwifes in Germany do so much more than help in the delivery of a baby. Before I gave birth, I only knew a little about midwives in the United States - where American midwives only attend 8% of all births. But to my surprise, while giving birth in Germany, the midwife is an essential part that I ALMOST missed out on!
