Perspectives in Muslim Theology- Good & Evil - Part 1- Lecture 3- Tuesday, May 6
Dr. Umar Abd-Allah and Dr. Sherman Jackson (University of Southern California) What approaches do Muslims take to find meaningful and relevant solutions to questions of good and evil? Dr. Umar Abd-Allah & Dr. Sherman Jackson explore why, from an Islamic perspective, evil exists in the world and how its existence relates to divine unicity and human free will and responsibility. What is the nature of the human? We will pay special attention to the issue of cultural dispossession and social oppression, especially with regard to large ethnic groups such as the case of Black suffering and they systematic exploitation of enslaved Africans and their descendants in the Americas.
