Wirtschaft-Wunder 2026: Hessens unmögliches Kraftwerk in Betrieb!

Here in Germany, a power plant that was previously considered impossible is now being commissioned. (Sources 1, 2, 3) Old coal-fired power plants are being converted to burn iron instead of coal. (Sources 4, 5, 8, 9) A single container stores 26 megawatt-hours and can be delivered by regular truck. (Source M) No hazardous materials, no pipeline to Russia like with gas-fired power plants, usable anywhere, and the iron can even be mined in Germany. (Sources 5, 23, 24) The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology has calculated that iron combustion is cost-effective in every future scenario for Europe's electricity grid and can fill our electricity supply gaps. (Sources 5, 6) And it's significantly cheaper than the billion-euro gas-fired power plants planned by the government. (Sources 5, 6, 25, M) Up to 8 cents per kilowatt-hour, the perfect complement to solar and wind power, something so many thought would never happen in Germany. (Source M) This calculation simply multiplied the efficiency by the average marginal costs of electricity from renewable energy sources. (Source M) Half of Europe is now researching our iron-fuel power plants, the Netherlands is currently investing 114 million euros – but the first construction, certification, and mass production will take place here: in Hesse.
