The ban is over, which means it's time to break out the spinning rods! In this video, we head to my favorite spots on the Khimki Reservoir to open the full fishing season. I had planned on actively fishing for perch: I wanted to check the bottom with microjig and try tail spinners for pelagic perch. But, as often happens, the fish had other plans for the day. The pelagic perch are silent for now, but the microjig came to the rescue, even though the fishing was challenging. Despite the finicky bite and the small size of the striped perch, I was 100% thrilled with the first bites after the ban!
