Lying-in-State of National Hero, Hon. Francine E. Jackson | 15 July 2026

The Lying-in-State of the late National Hero, the Honourable Francine Jackson, takes place Wednesday, 15 July 2026, at the House of Parliament in George Town, Grand Cayman, as part of the official funeral arrangements accorded by the Cayman Islands Government. The occasion provides members of the public with an opportunity to pay their respects and reflect on her pioneering role as a suffragist, trailblazer and longstanding marriage officer, and the many decades of dedicated community service. As a mark of respect, the Cayman Islands flag will be flown at half-mast on all government buildings, entities and schools during normal business hours, commencing today, and continuing through to the end of the day of the official funeral on Friday, 17 July.
