A blast from Pakistan's past: 140 yr-old Golra Railway Station + Buying a 1800 yr-old coin

MUST VISIT IN PAKISTAN! If you like history, you must visit the Golra Railway Station. It is more than a century-old Victorian style railway. It is so beautiful, one can romance the idea of being back in time. The railway was built in 1881, and now the main building has been converted into a heritage museum but the railway itself is still functioning today. There were many trains that hold such important history, including a train that was used by the founder of Pakistan himself, Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Golra Sharif train station is located just on the outskirt of Islamabad. After our visit to the museum, we went to a local handicraft and antique market where Steve bought a 1800 year-old coin from the Gandhara Civilization. How cool!! As for Ivana, she went home with a new local cashmere shawl. Steve also tried on some pakol, a Pakistani hat from the northern area. We had an amazing day in Islamabad starting with our visit to Islamabad Club and ending the day with dinner at Asian Wok by Monal. Great day of eating, shopping, and learning!
