But could the secret to its political success have been, in some way, already present in the ideas of Aristotle? In this Episvlog, the intention is not to romanticize Aristotle. On the contrary: Aristotle was also a man of his time. But, when we remove this historical veneer, a provocative question remains: What if what is most timeless in Aristotle—that is, the common good, the rule of law, the strength of the middle class, the pursuit of the good life, and the rejection of extremes—helps explain why Norway has been so successful? While many countries become richer and remain politically ill, Norway has managed to transform wealth into stability, strong institutions, social trust, and collective well-being. Is this just a coincidence? Or perhaps Aristotle, from Ancient Greece, saw something that many modern politicians still haven't understood?
