Barranco de las Vacas is located in the municipality of Agüimes, in the southwest of the island. It won't be too difficult to get there, especially when you know that it's only a few minutes' walk from the road to the most striking point. Its tourist appeal lies in its peculiar rock formation called "Colored Tufa." This place has become famous in recent years for its Colored Tufa, a type of volcanic rock common in the Canary Islands, also known as "toscas." The colored tuffs have white and yellowish tones, and in some cases, reddish ones. The white and yellowish tuffs come from volcanic eruptions, while the reddish ones originate from the action of water on the rock over thousands of years.
