On July 27th, 2001, the first ever attempt at relaunching the PLANET OF THE APES franchise made its way to theaters. While many fans were disappointed by Tim Burton’s reimagining of the 1968 classic, it’s gone on to leave a fascinating legacy behind it; mostly due to what it got wrong…but also, for what it got right, and today, I wanted take a closer look something it got right, and what had the potential to be an all-time great PLANET OF THE APES villain…General Thade.
