Ricster Diaries Episode 94/4 - Holiday To Scotland (4/5) | 18/09/2025

Filmed on 18/09/2025. So, we are now nearing the end of our Scotland adventure. After much excitement on the trains, we decided to have a much more easier day with just the one station. This location is home to one of the busiest shipping lanes in the north sea, Aberdeen. Starting at Edinburgh Waverley, we catch the 09:30 InterCity7 HST service to Aberdeen. After nearly 4 years without a ride on the HST, it is wonderful to experience the MTU engines and the MK3 Coaches. The refurbished sets are just as comfortable and the journey is very speedy with speeds up to 110 MPH. The MK3 coaches also bought back nostalgia which sure does for everyone. Not to mention, 2026 will see the 50th anniversary of the HST. At Aberdeen, we got to business with just over an hour or so of spotting. Aberdeen is HST Central with services running to and from Glasgow Queen Street and Edinburgh Waverley. With even shuttle services to Inverness. LNER also provides 4 daily services from Aberdeen to London Kings Cross/Leeds. We then went sightseeing around the city. The docks are massive to accommodate the shipping lanes in the north sea with various ferries, cargo and fishing vessels. Our journey back, we catch the 16:04 InterCity7 HST service back to Edinburgh with HA01 set which consist of 5 carriages. Again, a faultless journey to Edinburgh. ******************************************************************************* Thank You For Watching You Can Follow Me On Twitter: @NowisRicky Flickr: ricnowis Instagram: rcnowis Facebook: Ricky Nowis Transport Community ©RickyNowisTrainspotting MMXXV #ricsterdiaries #scotland #travelvloguk #aberdeen #scotrail #class43 #highspeedtrain #hst #mtu #forthrailbridge #class158 #sprinter #cummins #uktrains2025 #ukrailways #class170 #turbostar #uktrains2025 #lner #auma #class801 #hitachi #trainspottinguk
