Climbing Tools: Crevasse Rescue Exercise
Now available anywhere with the new apple podcast app for the iphone and ipad. Just search climbing tools while at the gym. Avoiding the void! This is a simple load transfer exercise. In the confusing world of crevasse rescue it can all be a bit much. This simple exercise is 4/5 of the crevasse or rock raise system. Back in the day when I used to teach this stuff I found that students could grasp this easily. Little did they know that they were really learning the crevasse rescue system. This is a exercise remember. You really wouldn't want suspend a real person off just one prussik. Rather you would have a back up of some sort. This video assumes that you know the Munter hitch and how to tie it off. The prussik knot is also used. I have inserted links to videos teaching those hitches in the video. Hi I am now booking guiding work. I have just been a stay at home Dad for the last 4 years. Keen to get back to the mountain world. I know where there is some great rock in Mexico and Argentina. Thinking about a trip to Aconcagua this January. Right now I will be spending the summer in Banff Canada.
