Located on the China-Myanmar border, this market is known for its unique ethnic delicacies. Tengchong is home to 24 ethnic minority groups, with a total population of approximately 62,000 people. The Lisu and Achang peoples are indigenous to the area, while ethnic groups like the Dai, Wa, and Hui also have significant populations. This diversity brings together a wide variety of distinctive local foods.
