Gus Johnson: The Michigan Difference
The Football Alumni of Michigan (FAM) sat down with legendary sportscaster and Detroit native Gus Johnson at the Champions Circle Golf Classic to hear about his lifelong love for Michigan Football and why the mantra of “The Team, The Team, The Team” never ends. From his favorite players growing up, to the lasting influence of Bo Schembechler, to calling four straight wins over Ohio State, Gus reflects on what makes Michigan truly different and why its legacy of brotherhood continues to endure as the winningest program in college football history. Special thanks to FAM’s Doug Cohen (OLB, 1988-1990) for conducting the interview, and to Champions Circle for hosting us at the 3rd Annual Champions Circle Golf Classic on July 21, 2025! #GoBlue
