college is hard, but nobody talks about it

Hi, I'm Tiffany and I studied Computer Science and Classics at Stanford. This video was filmed a year before I graduated. Now I look back on this and see how much I've grown from the experience! I think most people who go to college hit a point where they are just a little overwhelmed. But nobody really talks about it. We’re eager to show off our happiness and accomplishments but don’t show our failures and mistakes. So, in the spirit of being open, I wanted to share a week in college where I really struggled. I personally find school very challenging and it’s taken me a while to figure out how to succeed in this system. I’ll be showing a day where I 1) failed a midterm and 2) dealt with some team drama. I hope that by showing this, you can see that things are not just what you see on the surface and that sometimes it’s ok to not be ok. I don't think this video should discourage anyone who is about to go to college! There are some people who never find college challenging, and that's totally normal too. But for those who do struggle, I hope this video gives you encouragement to keep going. For me, the value of college is to mature as a person and to make meaningful connections with others.
