Secondary School, Quarter 2, 2026, "Spiritual Growth in Relationship with God" Lesson 13: "In Anticipation of Eternity"   1. Of course, Christians look to the future, to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ and the events that will follow. However, we live here and now and are called to live each day of our lives with Jesus! How can a Christian avoid sacrificing the present for the future, while also neglecting the future for the sake of the present? 2. Once in Eden, in the distant times of heavenly bliss, man communed with God face to face, but by sinning, Adam and Eve lost this privilege. Paul reminds us: "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). And yet, according to the same Apostle Paul, the saved will soon meet God again "face to face" (1 Cor. 13:12). When will this be, and how is it possible to see the Lord face to face? 3. Apostle John is the only one in the New Testament who speaks of the bride of Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God. In the Gospel of John, we hear the following words from the lips of the forerunner: "He who has the bride is the bridegroom, and the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom's voice. This my joy is fulfilled" (John 3:29). In turn, in Revelation we read: "Then one of the seven angels came to me... and said to me, 'Come, I will show you the wife, the bride of the Lamb's" (Rev. 21:9). Who is this metaphor referring to, and why does the apostle use it? 4. In the last chapter of the Bible, Revelation 22, the verb ἔρχομαι “to come” occurs 7 times (see Rev. 22:7, 12, 17 (3rd), 20 (2nd)). From whose lips do we hear this word? To whom is this word addressed? What does it call?
