Children's magazines in Argentina shaped entire generations by combining education, comics, and crafts. Historically, the market was dominated by the classic rivalry between Billiken and Anteojito, pillars of entertainment and educational support that immortalized some of the country's greatest cartoonists and writers. At the end of the 19th century, pioneering efforts emerged, such as La estrella matutina (1867) in Córdoba and El escolar argentino (1887), which sought to complement the public education system. However, the true mass phenomenon arrived at the beginning of the following century.
