Unspoken Truths of a Cancer Journey | Jennifer Cochran | TEDxCatoctinCircleWomen
Have you ever been in a doctor’s office and had them say, “Hmm, that is weird”? Or, “That is not a normal side effect of this medication, something else must be causing that problem”. Or, worse, “You are healthy, there is nothing wrong with you”, yet you know there is. In The Unspoken Truths of a Cancer Journey, Jennifer Cochran talks about this and other unspoken truths that patients and caregivers face when dealing with serious illness like cancer. After over a decade working with cancer survivors Jennifer became one herself. She was in the best shape of her life; she had this little problem of cancer. Coming to the conversation with a good foundation regarding current breast cancer treatments and surgical options, she felt prepared to take on her cancer. She was not prepared for the end of treatment not being the end of this journey. Surviving is just the beginning. Jennifer C. Cochran, LMT, CLT is the owner of Fitness Design Solutions, LLC where she works with cancer survivors to keep them moving during cancer treatment or help them get moving again when treatment is over. Getting curious about our new normal, what works and what does not is key to moving forward with confidence. Knowing when we face challenges, we can always try something different. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
