Otra trama - Hugo Mujica, Dioniso y el valor de la creación

Hugo Mujica has just published "Dionysus: Eros the Creator and Pagan Mysticism." Mujica—poet, philosopher, and priest—states that for the Greeks, Dionysus is life itself, and that his book aims to rekindle the passion for existence in a dispassionate age, devoid of enthusiasm and governed by the logic of calculation. "Life is a creative act, or it ceases to be life," the poet affirms. But Dionysus is more than life, Mujica maintains. Dionysus is also difference, transformation, the difference that questions and simultaneously affirms unity. The importance of poetic language in deconstructing totalities, the continuous expansion of God, the sacred and the erotic as principles of existence, the loss of our sense of wonder at life, religions, the value of openness and incompleteness, and more are explored in this rich conversation between Quiroga and a man of letters, philosophy, and religion.
