📖 Base text: Mark 9 17 One of the crowd answered, “Teacher, I brought you my son, who has a mute spirit. 18 Wherever it seizes him, it throws him down, and he foams at the mouth, grinds his teeth, and becomes rigid. I asked your disciples to cast it out, but they could not.” 19 He replied, “You unbelieving generation! How long will I be with you? How long will I put up with you? Bring him to me.” 20 So they brought him to him. When the man saw him, the spirit immediately convulsed him, and he fell on the ground and rolled around, foaming at the mouth. 21 He asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” “From childhood,” he replied. 22 It has often thrown him into fire or water to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us. 23 Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” 24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” 25 When Jesus saw that a crowd was running to the scene, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “You mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him and never enter him again!” 26 And it cried out, convulsing him violently, and came out of him. The boy looked so much like a corpse that many said, “He is dead.” 27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose. 28 After Jesus had gone indoors, his disciples asked him privately, “Why could we not cast it out?” 29 And he said to them, “This kind cannot be driven out by anything but prayer and fasting.” 30 And they departed from there and traveled through Galilee, and he did not want anyone to know it. 31 For he was teaching his disciples and saying to them, “The Son of Man is about to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill him, and after he is killed, he will rise again on the third day.” 32 But they did not understand this saying, and they were afraid to ask him. 33 And he came to Capernaum, and when he was in the house he asked them, “What were you arguing about on the way?” 34 But they kept quiet, for on the way they had argued with one another about who was the greatest. 35 And he sat down and called the twelve and said to them, “If anyone wants to be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.” 36 And taking a little child, he set him in the midst of them, and taking him in his arms, he said to them, 37 “Whoever receives one of these little children in my name receives me; and whoever receives me does not receive me but him who sent me.” 38 Then John answered him, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in your name, and we forbade him, because he does not follow us.” 39 “Do not forbid him,” Jesus said, “for no one who does a miracle in my name can soon afterward speak evil of me.” 40 “For whoever is not against us is for us.” 41 “Truly I tell you, whoever gives you a cup of water to drink in my name because you belong to Christ will certainly not lose their reward.” _________________________________________________________________ Welcome to the Michele do Pandeiro channel | Prayer & Word Here, God's presence is real, and each prayer is a cry from heaven to your heart.
