Video by Tony Jay Tony Jay, led by Mike Ramos (of April Magazine, Cindy, Sad Eyed Beatniks etc.), has been recording in some form since 2006 and playing live for almost 10 years. In early summer of 2025, the band toured in Japan. In the month prior to the trip, the band wrote and recorded an album for a tour cassette, drawing sonic influence from Japanese artists such as Les Rallizes Dénudés and Shizuka. During the recording process, Tony Jay's songs unfold in real-time — each instrument track laid down informing the next, in a sort of dialog until something resembling a "song" emerges, replete with "atmospheric whispers and delicate melodies breaking through fuzz and hiss like sunlight chasing away the fog..." (When You Motor Away). Previously released as a limited run cassette, these songs are available for the first time on vinyl, courtesy of Mt.St.Mtn. (California), KiliKiliVilla (Japan), and Safe Suburban Home (UK).
