ചുവരില്ലാതെ ചായങ്ങളില്ലാതെ (CHUVARILLAATHE CHAAYANGALILLAATHE)

Along with the rise of the academically well trained singer Yesudas in the world of Malayalam film music, simultaneously there groomed an equally strong 'non-trained' counterpart for him, whose voice is so live and vibrant even today, which one may feel is developing in a reverse mode, getting younger and younger each day!!!! It is none other than P. Jayachandran. His rendering style of giving emphasis on the emotions and expessions of the lyrics has earned him the much deserving title "BHAAVA GAAYAKAN" - very much parallel to the title of "GAANA GANDHARVAN" that his legendary contemporary has received. The typical aristocratic gait and gestures as well as the carefree nature and also the genuine humility and reverence to any good music, reflect in all of Jayachandran's songs. Quite naturally influenced by the stalwart Mohd. Rafi of Bollywood, Jayachandran too upholds the view of bringing out the soul of lyrics in the forefront, through his own distinct style of voice modulations, rather than overt exhibition of musical exercises. Just like any of Jayachandran's songs, this one is also very much expressive and captured my heart instantly. It really is a bliss to hear Jayachandran bringing out the pathos of the tragic love tale, beautifully penned by renowned lyricist Sri Mankompu Gopalakrishnan for the movie Mayookham (2005), directed by Hariharan and music composed by late Ravi Bombay. I don't know how much justice I was able to do to the song. Hence, it is requested that my flaws may be forgiven and please use headphones to hear it!!!🙏🙏
