Fibrosi Polmonare Idiopatica: Sintomi, Diagnosi Precoce e Nuovi Farmaci | Il Progetto AiR a Milano
Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis is one of the most difficult rare lung diseases to recognize. In this Pianeta Salute TG report from the AIR Milano project, discover symptoms, early diagnosis, new medications, and the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in managing rare respiratory diseases. Let's talk about: • Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis: symptoms and early diagnosis • Rare lung diseases: what they are and how to recognize them • Pulmonary fibrosis screening: when to do it and who is it recommended for • What to do if I have a persistent dry cough and shortness of breath • How high-resolution CT scans work for lung examinations • A multidisciplinary pulmonologist-rheumatologist approach to respiratory diseases • New drugs for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis: what to expect in the coming years • Why art can raise awareness of rare diseases In this article, we discuss the arrival in Milan of the AIR – Art, Information and Augmented Reality project, promoted by Boehringer Ingelheim together with ANMAR, APMARR, GILS, and FIMARP. This artistic and experiential journey gives voice to the unmet needs of patients with rare lung diseases and offers a new opportunity for discussion between clinicians, associations, and institutional decision-makers. Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, often diagnosed late, can manifest with a dry cough, shortness of breath, and a progressive reduction in lung capacity. Experts emphasize that an accurate diagnosis requires a multidisciplinary team: pulmonologists, radiologists, rheumatologists, pathologists, and pulmonary rehabilitation professionals. In this article, we explore: • the initial symptoms that should not be underestimated, especially after age 60; • key tests such as respiratory function tests and high-definition CT scans; • the possible genetic component and risk factors such as smoking and pollution; • new medications that promise to improve the management of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis; • the importance of networking between hub and spoke centers for equitable and timely care. The AIR project thus becomes a bridge between science, art, and the community, an innovative way to raise public awareness of rare lung diseases and promote early diagnosis and integrated care. 👉 Subscribe to the channel and activate the bell 🔔 to never miss the next in-depth analysis of Pianeta Salute TG. #idiopathicpulmonaryfibrosis #disease #respiratoryhealth #earlydiagnosis #PianetaSaluteTG Interviews with: Cesare Blasi, Professor of Respiratory Diseases; Alberto Ari, Professor of Pulmonology; Lorenzo Cavagna, Rheumatologist; Ezio Giacchetti, President of the IRCCS Ca' Granda Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico Foundation; Cinzia Scurati, Councilor of the Lombardy Region; Emanuele Monti, President of the Lombardy Region Health Commission; Nedim Pipic, Country Managing Director & Head of Human Pharma Italy, Boehringer Ingelheim. ********************* 🔥 Follow us!
