Finding Pleasure in the Process

Hello, friends, I wanted to talk about aesthetic pleasure as a guiding principle for creating. This idea guides my paintings, my writing, and my music. I believe that the instruments we use (of any kind) should please us in different ways: through their ease of use, their materiality, their visual design, the way we interact with them, and, of course, its sound. At first, this might seem shallow or materialistic, but I think we can all agree that there are many factors that make any instrument exceptional. I'm not just talking about specs or how many things it can do. Sometimes simplicity and quality matter more than having endless choices—especially if, like me, you can't do two things at the same time. What guides your creative process? I’m curious about what matters to you when making. Patch notes: I'm using the Dixie II+'s PULSE and SINE waves, blending them in varying amounts with a VCA. I'm mainly modulating the Takaab 2HP LPG and the pulse width. The Digitakt is sending the clock and playing 3–4 samples. The main melody comes from the Dixie. The Digitakt is MIDI sequencing Dixie with very high probability in every note… but there was one note I did not like in the whole video.
