And it is undoubtedly mercy that nurtures these creatures struggling amidst their limitless needs. And just as a tree, in its entirety, is turned towards its fruit, it is undoubtedly mercy that turns the entire universe towards humanity, making everything look to it and rushing to its aid. And it is undoubtedly mercy that fills, illuminates, and enlivens this boundless space and empty, barren world. And it is undoubtedly mercy that makes this mortal human a candidate for eternity, making him a recipient and friend of an eternal and everlasting being. O humanity, since mercy is such a powerful, attractive, lovable, and helpful beloved truth... Say "Bismillahirrahmanirrahîm" (In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful), cling to that truth, and be saved from absolute savagery and the pains of boundless needs. Approach the throne of that Eternal and Everlasting Sovereign, and become His confidant, friend, and companion through His mercy, compassion, intercession, and radiance! Yes, the gathering of all kinds of beings in the universe around man within the sphere of wisdom, and their rushing to meet all his needs with perfect order and providence, is undoubtedly one of two possibilities: Either every kind of being in the universe recognizes man on its own, obeys him, and rushes to his aid. This is a hundred times far from reason and leads to many impossibilities. It would be necessary for the power of the most powerful Absolute Sovereign to reside in an utterly helpless being like man. Or, this assistance occurs through the knowledge of an Almighty Absolute Being behind the veil of this universe. Therefore, the various kinds of beings in the universe do not know humanity; rather, they are evidence of the knowledge and understanding of a Being who knows, recognizes, and shows mercy to humanity. O humanity! Come to your senses. Is it at all possible that the Glorious Being who causes all kinds of creatures to extend their helping hands towards you and respond with "Here I am!" to your needs, does not know, recognize, or see you? Since He knows you and reveals His knowledge through His mercy, you too should know Him, acknowledge your knowledge with reverence, and understand with certainty that to subdue the vast universe and send it to the aid of a creature as utterly weak, utterly helpless, utterly poor, mortal, and insignificant as you, is certainly a truth of mercy encompassing wisdom, providence, knowledge, and power. Of course, such mercy demands from you complete and sincere gratitude and serious and pure reverence. And make "Bismillahirrahmanirrahîm," which is the interpreter and title of that sincere gratitude and pure reverence, a means of attaining that mercy and an intercessor at the court of the Most Merciful. Yes, the existence and realization of mercy is as evident as the sun. For just as a central pattern is formed from the order and arrangement of the threads and strands coming from all sides. Thus: In the vast sphere of this universe, luminous threads extending from the manifestations of a thousand and one Divine Names weave a seal of mercy, a stamp of compassion, and an inscription of kindness on the face of the universe, and weave a seal of providence that reveals itself to the minds brighter than the sun. Yes, the sun and the moon, the elements and minerals, the plants and animals; The Most Gracious and Majestic God, who arranges life with the rays of His thousand and one names like the warp threads of a magnificent design, who serves life, who shows His compassion with the extremely sweet and self-sacrificing affection of all mothers, both plant and animal, who subjugates living beings to human life, and who reveals through it a most beautiful and sweet magnificent design of Divine Lordship and the importance of man, and manifests His most brilliant mercy, has certainly made His mercy an acceptable intercessor for living beings and mankind in their absolute need, in contrast to His absolute self-sufficiency. O man, if you are truly human, say "Bismillahirrahmanirrahîm" (In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful). Find that intercessor! Yes, it is undoubtedly, perhaps even demonstrably, mercy that nurtures and governs four hundred thousand different species of plants and animals on the earth, without forgetting or confusing any of them, with perfect order, wisdom, and providence, and that places the seal of oneness on the face of the earth; and the existence of that mercy is as certain as the existence of the beings on the face of this earth, and there are proofs of its realization as numerous as those beings. Yes, just as there is such a seal of mercy and stamp of oneness on the face of the earth, there is also such a stamp of mercy on the spiritual essence of man that it is no less significant than the stamp of mercy on the face of the earth ...
