Prima di Roma: il mondo dimenticato dei Latini

PART ONE Before Rome dominated the world, a proud and mysterious people lived in the heart of central Italy: the Latins. Who were they, really? Where did they come from? And why is their story almost forgotten today? In this two-part documentary, we retrace with rigor and engaging narration the history of the ancient Latins, inhabitants of Latium Vetus, the region that saw the birth and growth of the future Rome. Starting from their origins, we will explore the theories surrounding their origins, the historical sources, the myths, and the legends that accompanied this people. We will analyze their society, political organization, primitive religion, and the slow syncretism with the Greek world. We will delve into the Latin language, their relations with the Etruscans, Greeks, Sabines, Volscians, and finally Rome. The video is based on accredited historical sources and designed to offer an immersive experience, accessible to all but never superficial. Our goal is to shed light on a civilization that, despite being absorbed by Rome, left a profound and lasting mark on Western culture. 👉 This is the first part of the documentary. In the second part, we'll explore the conflicts with Rome, the Latin War, and the definitive disappearance of Latin identity.
